watercolor brushes in photoshop!?! what version are you using, cause i want those. although it still wouldn't make my art as awesome as yours... :) looks fantastic!!
great Wonder Woman. I am also curious about the brushes you mention. I see a lot of watercolor patterns out there but is there really a brush that gives a watercolor effect as well?
Unbelievable!!! This is awesome. What a dynamic pose. Its so striking as soon as the page opens the image just popped out at me. WW is still my favorite DC animated dvd I hope one day we get a sequel.
Hey Lauren. I loved the animated Wonder Woman film, and it made me a big fan of you. I looked up your other films, liked them a lot too, but I just wanted to know if you'll ever do original material? Like your own film with your own characters and stuffs
Michael Dooney: I stand corrected. I guess patterns would be a better way of putting it. They are essentially stamps.... but no magical brush that actually makes the color come out looking like watercolor. I don't think that exists....yet.
Anonymous T-Girl: You may post it.
other Anonymous: I would like to one day do my own original work. It would probably be a series as opposed to a movie though.
BTW, speaking of Wonder Woman (or DC in general) and strong women. I read that you directed Justice League: Doom, but you also left to work on the new "Avatar" series "The Legend of Korra". Good luck on the new show. I can't wait to see it.
IS "Justice League: Doom" your DC swan song? Or are you planning on going back to them?
Ok, just a few quick things. Your art is sick, congrats on directing the Catwoman short, and I hope you get the chance to finally do Batgirl:Year One. You do insane work homegirl and the industry is better for you being in it.
Hi, I had to comment how I love your ipin-ups and sketches. It shows a wonderful animation style. I love how your figures -- especially your females --employ very convincing body language. Sadly, at least in modern comics that I've seenm especially from the DC's New 52, the body language never feels natural as your stuff does. Maybe they should have you animator's run DC's art department. Contiinued success. Artwork need not be over rendered to show grace in the figure or even attitude.
If "Justice League: Doom" is your swan song, then wow. What a song! I just saw the preview. Lauren Montgomery directing a movie animated by TMS with Kevin Conroy as Batman? *squeel* .... excuse me. MAJOR geek out. :c)
Also, STELLAR work on the Catwoman short. I loved Mr. Dos Santos' work on the DC Showcases, but yours out-shines them all by far. I'll watch Year One today. :c)
I wanted to thank you for this great post!! I enjoyed every little bit of it, I have you bookmarked and waiting for all the new stuff you post. Saab 9-3 Turbocharger

Coolest. Artwork. Ever.
While trying to find decent Supergirl wallpapers (re: not hyper-sexualized), i found your Supergirl Is Fast work, which is beyond awesome.
If you would let me post it on my blog (with a link back to you) in the future, that would be neato.
Keep up the great work!

I would die a happy man if you did your own series OR movie. I am a huge fan of your art and animation direction!

So what stamps you using? I want to know if I can achieve this effect on CS3...
BTW, just found out your blog. Nice works. Also saw your directed/storyboarded DCAU movies. Nice! ;-)
