Art Challenge 5

Mermaid Princess.
+
=

I was a bit of a cheater on this one. My sister asked me to draw her an octopus girl like Ursula but hotter. I decided to changed things up and did a slightly different take on an Octopus girl. Basically I put an octopus on her head. Anyway, sister didn't like it, so I used it to serve another purpose. I'm not really sure if an octopus girl counts as a mermaid princess....but heck, I've done enough mermaid drawings to last me many years. This will just have to do.

If you haven't thought of it, you should seriously consider expanding on the cephalopod (octopus)as a DC Universe character. It could make for a great aquatic heroine or antagonist. The tentacles alone make for some interesting visuals. If Bruce Timm and Paul Dini can create Harley Quinn, there's no telling what you can do. Then again, what do I know? I don't work for WB. Keep up the good work. You and the crew of animators and producers make it worth the $24.99 at Best Buy.

Cool Octopus Girl - very reggae hairstyle - your sister must be crazy not to like that - if she don't want and if it gets disqualified at the Art Challenge for non-thematic compliance - I'll be happy to take it - here's my address : Z-Double-O-M, Box 3-5-0, Boston, Mass 0-2-1-3-4

Great timeline thingy - especially those murky, mysterious early years - you were really into the whole vikings and unicorns thing - that's awesome!

Cool Liefield tribute - removing the feet was a nice touch - Spawn is awesome - he's like Spider-Man, only with Dr. Strange's cape added, which makes him doubly cool.

Ooh, yeah! All right!

Hi Lauren,

I'm an author for HarperStudio (an imprint of HarperCollins) researching a book, and I"m interested in contacting you for a potential interview about Wonder Woman. Is there a good way to get in touch? I promise I'm not a spammer or a crackpot.

Thanks,

Rachelle

Dear Lauren,

I would really like to work with you on some small comics jobs from time to time. I'm a one-man publisher from Denmark, looking for talent who can push a pencil around a sheet of paper in the right fashion, and you are very impressive.

Please get in touch with me, as I cannot find an e-mail adress for you on deviantart or anywhere else... mine is temporarily as follows:
service@showtimedvd.dk

It would be a great service to me, if you would atleast talk things over before deciding to ignore me.

Lauren, if you want to see another version of a 'squid/octopus' girl, then the SLG series Nightmares & Fairytales, last story arc of the series offered a great version of one! :)
